In December, I chatted with this friend (let's call her AL), who was my ex schoolmate. After talking to her for a while, I thought maybe it will be a great idea to meet up when I am back in April with the rest of our friends. So from the help of another friend, we set up a chat group in Whatsapp. Many people were added in. We decided to fix a date and time for our gathering. Honestly, not many were interested or I would say that others have their commitments as the gathering was on a weekday at high tea hours (the date and time was suggested by AL). Fair enough. I do not like large group of people, as I find it difficult to communicate anyway.
AL said that she preferred a weekday citing weekends was for her extended family. She said she will take leave for this day and requested to do a high-tea. Now, high-tea hours is 3pm to 5pm usually. So a lot of people will not be able to make it because it was still working hours. In the end, 4 of us said we were free.
The day arrived, 3 of us met at this high-tea place at 3pm and we were missing of AL. Worried, we messaged her. At about 4.30pm, she replied and said she had work commitment at the last minute and couldn't make it. Now, I thought why couldn't she inform us earlier if she couldn't make it? why waited until we have to ask her about it. ok, fine. I like to give people chance, so I thought I will asked her later. Maybe she truly forgot about the meeting or she was having some problems at work.
I went back to France. No message from AL. In May, I decided to message her (you never know if this people are in trouble). Days later, she finally replied.
She said "Work commitment lor.. company facing restructuring and merger.. a lot of work.. cannot go off after lunch..sigh."
No apologies from her or even asking how was everything. Damn it.
I replied "Hmm... thought you are taking leave to meet us that day and after that you never reply us you not coming. So we got worried. Anyway, good to know you are ok."
She replied a moment later, "I actually took leave that afternoon but got to cancel it due to urgent issues. HR is tough job... really...lol"
Ya, right. So why couldn't you at least message us about it but you have to wait for us to ask you what happened? We are all adults, come on. And she has the cheek to say her job is so tough and even think it was funny to stood someone up. Grow up, please. Everybody's job are tough. Too arrogant eh?
Have you ever meet this kind of people who is the first to suggest to meet on this date and this time but never show up. Worse, she seems to be Missing In Action (MIA).
Till today, there is no reply from her. I'm so nice, I still give chance to her. haha.
Well, its time to 'remove' her from my friends list, she is simply too arrogant for me to handle. she doesn't appreciate other people's time and friendship. I wish her good luck. And hope karma won't comeback and bite her in the ass.
